Cookies

We made sugar cookies for our family night treat.  I have a big apple cookie cutter, so we each decorated our own big cookie.  Yum!

Fawson Farm

Here is a picture of the Kids going to the farm with Grandpa and Dad.  They also just got a toy from the treasure box that they bought with their “Fawson Dollars”.   They earn “Fawson Dollars” for good behavior.

Seth and Brad both have Some Vans Shoes and they are worn out and use up and perfect for wearing to the farm.  They slept on the trampoline together at the farm and then Brad and Grandpa got up early and cut all the hay it the field.

Story Time

I like the extra time I have with Seth since the others are in school. One of our favorite things to do is go to the library for story time.  I think I like it more than him because he only will go willingly once a week.  This was when we went on the first day of school and they read a story about  Kermit the Crab. They usually have a little craft they do that goes along with the story they just read.

Summer Visits

We had a fabulous visit from Grandpa and Grandma Shaw! They had to come home for some training meetings for their mission. It was a great surprise that they made the trip here to see us. They only have two more months left of their mission. It was fun to see pictures of the things they have been working on.

Joseph just finished reading Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Hatcher By Bruce Coville. I read it too and I would recommend it. He also read The Dragon Slayers by the same author. He has done very well with his reading this summer. Izabelle has done great too and she even read a few chapter books this summer. She is nice to read to her little brother too. Summer Break is almost over. Back to School next week.

Last night we got to go to Bill Wonacot’s 88th birthday party. It was fun for us to go sing to him and they had invited several families and friends to come have cake and ice cream. They just told everyone come anytime you can between six and nine o’clock. That is a great way to celebrate don’t you think. (“Share you cake and share your friendship thats what birthdays are about.” That is a quote from a Primary birthday song.)

Another week gone, that means 13 weeks left until baby Fawson comes.

Christmas in July

Our new carpet arrived on Monday morning. hooray!!! It looks so nice and that room is so inviting now. It is like Christmas in July.

Katherine and I went and picked apples together with our children. It was fun to spend the afternoon with all of them. These are the first apples of the year. I have a box and a half and now I get to decide what to make with them.

Joseph had a pack meeting so we all went to see him get his Marbles belt loop.

14 more weeks until our baby will arrive!

Pioneer Day

Pioneer Day started out with breakfast at the stake center. The children participated in some races and they each got a toy prize for playing. I thought that was extra cool that all the kids there got a toy so everyone felt like a winner. We also went to Vernon Wirthin Park and saw some of our cousins and friends. They had some crafts and games and some little handcarts that they could pull around. Joseph took Seth and Braden for a ride and I saw Izabelle pulling Easton.

The afternoon was mostly Saturday work. Everyone helped with a
Family job. Some preparations for the new carpet and I cleaned both of the couches in the front room and they look like new again. We had a dinner invitation at Kristin’s house which we gladly
excepted. The kids finally got a chance to play in the water while we were there. Brad and I had a nice time talking with family.

I am so grateful for my ancestors and the amazing people they are. It is so inspiring to learn about them and get a glimpse of what they were like and know that we share the same hope in Christ and can all meet again someday. I am also thankful for the many modern day examples I have like my Mom and Dad serving a mission together in Illinois. thank you!

Pool Party

Today we went to the primary pool party! There were about 32 children. I was nervous at first because of the number of children, but with 7 adults it turned out to be fun. Joseph has learned how to do a flip off the diving board. Izabelle is starting to learn how to dive. She wants to just skip right to the flip. Seth is fearless and I am glad he is still wearing his life jacket while at the pool. it is fun to watch Seth run off the diving board at full speed.

Aunt Timandra joined us for a hamburger dinner. It was great fun to have her with us. After dinner Brad and Timandra did some website work together while the kids and I watched Alice in Wonderland and then we had a balloon fight.

Baby Countdown

We have just 15 weeks to go until the baby joins us in the flesh. We are getting pretty excited. We even have carpet on order for the front room. Which means if anyone wants to get in a game of life-sized Candy Land, you’ll have to come over soon because the painted game board on the floor is going to be covered up with the new carpet. We are pretty excited to get a real front room.

The baby is doing well in Sheri’s tummy. We figure it must be doing well because Sheri isn’t feeling her normal perky self lately. This has been a nice concept for Sheri until Izabelle posed the question, “Does that mean the baby is not doing well if you are feeling good?”. As you may have guessed that got Sheri thinking of all the people that say how they don’t really get sick during their pregnancies. All in all we can’t complain. We can see how the Lord is blessing us each day. We are grateful for our wonderful family and look forward to our new addition in November.

Apricots, Family and Friends

It was an apricot day for me. I took three boxes of apricots to Mary Janes house and made apricot leather. It will need to dry outside for the next couple of days or so. It took three hours just to get the apricots all blended up. When Brad got home he came and helped get it all set up to dry outside on some tables set out on the tennis court.

While I was working on that Izabelle and Seth played with their cousins. Kathryn and Rachel were there with their children. Izabelle played with Lauren and Nahtalya and Seth was with Jason and Braden.

Joseph spent the day with his good friend Gabe. He got to go with his family to Zions National Park to the Emerald Pools. A fun filled day of hiking and swimming and a picnic. They also took him out for ice cream when they got back so he came home at 9:00 at night.

Ninth Anniversary

I love you Bradley!

Bradley and I celebrated our ninth Anniversary! Looking back is fun we have so much to be thankful for. It is exciting to think about what is in store for us too. With our fourth child expected soon the future looks bright!
Brad took me out to dinner at Ruby Tuesdays and then we went to a movie and saw Iron Man 2. Grandmother was with our children and took them swimming.
